Conversations with Pamela, is an initiative which started as a documentry film project about child soldiers in Northern Uganda.

Documentry film and photography in Africa, has a long history of voyeuristic, anthropological- style documentation, seeing the portrayal of Africans more as exotic creatures than ordinary citizens. The current role of many NGO and charity organisations in Africa, also hinders a new representation of ordinary Africans by consistently using cliched images in their campaigns aimed at a European audience. Conversations with Pamela would like like to offer an alternative. Send a postcard, not a donation.
